That haunting refrain

We all get inane lyrics or soundbites stuck in our heads. (I want a scientific explanation for why.) Today, I've had the first two lines of this poem my twelfth grade English teacher absurdly recited one day.

Ducks

Ducks are lucky
Don't you think?
When they want to
Take a drink,
All they do is
Duck their bill.
(Doesn't matter
If they spill.)
When they want to
Take a swim,
All they do is
Dive right in;
And they never
Seem to sink.
Ducks are lucky,
Don't you think?

That's one of two duck-related poems that get stuck in my head. (The other is informally titled "orgy at the zoo" and starts F***, F***, F*** a Duck...)
